Considering the Grizzly G0597 bench grinder: Opinions?

I have an old Craftsman 8" grinder that vibrates a lot and I hate it.

I would be willing to pay the freight for a Baldor but I hear nothing but bad things about how they have outsourced to China and are now no better than anyone else.

So does anyone have this grinder and what do you think of it?

I don't know how old your Craftsman grinder is. I have 2 old flat front ones. One I bought in 1963. The other is 70's,I guess. Both run quite smoothly. SO,I suggest you take off the wheels and SEE if the grinder vibrates by itself,or if the wheels are not well balanced,as CAN be the case. They can be denser on 1 side,and vibrate. Professional surface grinding machines have little weights on their hubs that can be moved to balance the wheels.

I would not even consider trading mine for a Grizzly.
