Picked up a Craftsman Block Plane the other day. Craftsman logo looks like a "crown". Dead ringer for a Stanley #220. problem of this $2 plane? I need to match that "Greenish" paint colour scheme. A look at this little "gem"242509242510242511242512 The iron is in great shape, by the way, and was actually sharp when I bought it. BTW, on the same table as this plane...242513and it works! Not sure about that "Primer gray" paint job, though. Weren't Handyman 133H s black handled, with a red stripe around the area were the wood meets the metal? Oh well, just a fifty cent screwdriver....:D

I actually have a couple "Sears" branded planes. This one does have a Craftsman "crown" stamped into the iron. The other plane?242534is a Dunlap (Sargent??) that was sold at Sears. They look close to being twins, but not quite..242535Each is just a little different, be it the knobs, the irons, the depth adjuster screws. Same length, though242536 just part of a growing collection of old Block Planes..242537 Even have one with a label...

No clues as to this colour of paint? I guess I'll ask elsewhere, then....

Steven I think Hammerite light blue will be a pretty good match. I think Rustoleum makes it so most places that carry rustoleum may have it.

They also have a Mid Green that could be real close. Of course if you re-paint you can choose any color right?? ;)

Here is a swage press thats painted that color (Hammerite light blue)

I guess I'll will paint it black, and shine up any chrome items. Working on a Handyman 133H "Yankee" as well. Black & Red handle on that. Post photos later, after all the paints are dry. Paint "rack" also has a couple Fulton block planes sitting there.

paint is dry now, so...242883looks almost like a new Stanley, don't it. Here is a shot of it next to another "Sears" plane..242884as for the Handyman #133H "YANKEE" screwdriver..242885242886 a before and after shot. Looks a little better???
