I have a large cherry tree that was blown halfway down in a storm about 2 1/2 years ago.
It's hanging up in another tree and I can probably yank it down with a chain and my tractor.
Do you think it's still sawmillable after that much time?

If the trunk is split or cracked it's probably nothing more than firewood. If the tree was just tipped and not cracked through the trunk then maybe. If it were a white oak or walnut, I'd be pretty confident the heatwood would still be A-OK. Cherry, on the other hand, is not weather resistant so it's hard to say although my guess is it's gone. But only one way to find out. Pull it down and cut off the ends and take a look. If it's solid and you don't see any stains, decay, or big cracks you might get some good lumber out of it. Worst case, you'll have some wood for the woodstove.
