will someone do the MATH for me "weight of the tree were 518 thousand lbs , right or wrong

The weight probably includes the box, dirt & water. Modern cranes like the two used to lift it have built in load/strain gauges to tell them exactly how heavy the load is. I have no reason to doubt the number.

I did not doubt the number, just can not realize how big the tree are

The same city (League City - just south of Houston) fined the local Toyota dealer $260,000 for cutting down 3 Oak trees without a permit.

Compare this action of saving the 100 year old tree with the Los Angeles action of cutting down 400 trees to move the Space Shuttle to its final home.

Good. I'm glad someone still kind of cares about parts of the environment and realizes we, as human beings, can't live on asphalt and concrete. :)
