A Pistachio bowl in progress. Couldn't believe the colors in this piece of wood. Size is about 6 x 3. Obviously I still need to turn the bottom off. Finished with laquer. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures. C and C are always welcome.

That's some cool stuff Wes. Must have been dry as a bone, stuff loves to crack!!

Great little bowl Wes! Pretty wood too. Like Jim, the pistachio I've turned has loved to crack, but turns nice and can have a nice variety of colors.

Nice Wes. Being a big fan of pistachios...I've always wanted to have a bowl made from the tree. I'll keep in mind the crack-prone nature when/if I do get a chunk of it. Sure has some nice color to it...super job!

In 30 years of turning I have turned lots of pistachio. The blocks are always small. I f you turn them green, turn them thin. If you twicw turn, coat the entire bowl in anchor seal. The results are always spectacular! And man, do they ever sell! Wish I had a steady suppy.

Dick, I just founf two blanks on eBay and won one of them and it looks like I'll win the other one. Can't wait to get my hands on them.
