I'm trying to flatten my family crest as it's show on the screen - any ideas?

Looks like simplify did the trick...

Glad it worked: I've seen 'simplify' tie itself in knots for no apparent reason.

In those cases, I've resorted to hitting everything with 'smart fill' and then deleting the originals.

What is smart fill? I haven't used that one yet.

Also, anyone know if there is a tool to select all objects of a certain color?

What is smart fill? I haven't used that one yet.It creates a new object out to the boundaries of any objects surrounding the start point. You know that command that creates an object that surrounds all selected objects? Smart-fill is sort of the 'inside' version of that. Or think of it as a vector-mode 'paint-bucket' tool.

I think it was new with X3, but it may have been X4 (which is what I'm using now).

Find and replace will select all objects of a color. It's under the edit menu.

Not knowing exactly what you want you can always group it all then convert to a bit map.

Just make sure you have your full version saved .
