Hello, I would like to make some BANDSAW BOXES for the holidays.
I would like some advise on what would be some good reading and
vidieos to get. I also seek opinions on what blade would be best for
this application. I have a 1.5 HP JET 18 1nch bandsaw 133 inch blade.
Thanks in advance, Kevin

Hey Kevin,

Depending on the size of the boxes you choose to me will determine the size of blade .... in my experience, any blade 1/4" or larger will be difficult to make many of the curves and radius you'll be doing. I also have a 18" Jet saw but use my 14" jet with a carter stabilizer and an 1/8" blade for anything curved. The 18" is used mainly for ripping.

I recommend these two books. One (http://www.amazon.com/Building-Beautiful-Boxes-Your-Band/dp/1558705228/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1348274131&sr=8-2&keywords=bandsaw+boxes) and Two (http://www.amazon.com/Sculpted-Band-Saw-Boxes-Construction/dp/1558708294/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348274131&sr=8-1&keywords=bandsaw+boxes)

The both provide patterns and great instruction.

Have fun ..... also give a look into puzzle boxes.
