I picked up a load of African sumac on Friday and so my project this weekend was an endgrain hf.
This is one of my bigger ones at 8" x 6 1/2". I went with a big opening and it sure made it easier to get to the shoulder, not to mention cleaning out chips.
Just has a coat of DO so far.

what a lovely form..bold & round with a nice curve & perfect base size..proportions are wonderful. The wood is spectacular..I hope you have more..it really trips my trigger, and I will enjoy seeing the turnings you produce from it

Great form, great wood, love the rim detail. I like the larger opening, and the piece has a definite southwest thing going, at least for me.
Thanks for sharing.
