can someone tell me which one of the two 8" byrd cutter-heads grizzly sells is a 5/8" shaft?
i'm trying to retro fit my 60 powermatic jointer.
ordered the grizzly brand in hope i could just drop it in .no luck of course.
if i have to pull bearings i might as well go with the byrd.
did a site search and found some info but not specific enough.
any advice is welcome.

call byrd tool corp 800-441-2973. all i see on the website is a generic 8".

You need to buy a cutterhead designed for your machine. They make them for several different models.

Defiantly not a Buy and Pray type of purchase.
If you want a Byrd, get a Byrd.

The heads Grizzly sells do not fit your machine, it takes it's own unique head. Two different shaft sizes for that model but sounds like you know which one you need.
