gym trophy cabinet

I hope to build a trophy case for the gym in our local school. It will be a free standing unit instead of built in or recessed. I have looked online at store bought units in an effort to begin developing a plan. But they all seem to be plain-jane, all glass-no detail.
Can anyone help direct me to a source of photos, or suggestions where to start. I'm one of those guys who can build it if someone else draws it!
