Hey Guys

When I'm using CorelDraw does the line thickness matter? For example if I'm engraving a brick pattern on to some MDF and in the first pattern the lines in CorelDraw are the standard default point, and then in the second pattern the lines are thicker, will the 2 come out the same?

Thanks

That really depends upon your laser.

The Chinese lasers that use Laserworks do not recognize line thickness, it is meaningless. Mainstream lasers treat lines over a certain thickness as things to be rastered.

I kind of figured it would depend on the laser, thanks for the info.

With my Epilog in some cases I use a thicker line for the verticals than the horizontals on a grid, and they come out the same. If I use the same on some materials such as red Rowmark the verticals will not be totally clear without slowing it down, so this method makes it run faster.

Explore the features of the post script fill tool in the fill tool menu. There are many options and they are adjustable--you can select bricks from there for example.
