Had a order come in Tuesday for 6 toothpick holders. Two were from a friend who's kids are KC football fans. Anyway One is dyed red the others are natural. I made 4 from maple and 2 from cedar. All finished with Target EM6000 water based lacquer. Need to make a 4 more for the floral/craft store and the art gallery.

Bernie those are nice, something to add to my to-do list. If you don't mind me asking what are the little cups at the bottom made from, are they wood or something purchased for the purpose?

Those look real nice! I have made several of those and have made the cups deep enough so that if they are pulled out all the way the tooth picks stay in and don't go everywhere.

Thanks James and Sid. James they are made of the same wood. I used to hollow them out about 1/2" deep but now just use a forestner bit and then drill a hole for the dowel which is 1/4" that is glued to the finial, lid and the base.

Those look great Bernie! I haven't tried one yet, but they look like they'd make nice little gifts.
