:) Well I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with the grinding angle on the blades and your 30 degree angle works just fine. My next question deals with how to identify what # plane each one is. None of them appear to be what would be considered vintage planes as I would guess they are either 1970 to early 1980 models. They all have a # between the front knob and the mouth. Is there a sheet which would match the numbers with the size of the plane(I assume they compare to what you refer to as 4, 4 1/2 etc). All together there are 13 of them and after checking them over all of them can be repaired with a minimal purchase of parts.(Originally I thought maybe only 4 or 5) I will post a picture for all to see if I can only figure out how.(I recently purchased a digital camera)

Thanks for any and all info!

Larry :) :) :)
