Does anyone have a good dove that I can use to cut out and also put a name on as an ornament?

Took a quick look through my ornaments and found a couple or so.

Kevin

I think Jeff might be referring to DF Calligraphic ornaments in the Corel font files. There are some pretty neat looking doves there.

The ornaments I sent aren't from the font files. They are ready to cut out. Adding a name is easy enough if you want to, either raster or use a stencil font to add a name.

It shows that I should have looked instead of assuming. Nice art.

This has always been my favorite dove. It is a vector--take out what you need-add what you need etc...Saved in V11.

These were more of what I was wanting. Now if I can figure out a way to put a name on them.

For me, since most of my ornaments are cut from veneer, the easiest way to add a name is a stencil font. But, if you are using a solid wood that rasters well just do it that way. Takes a little longer but works well.

Okay, I am a little green, how do I stencil font?

You just go to any of the free font sites and search for stencil fonts. There are a few out there. They cut out without dropping out the centers of the letters. If you're old enough -- remember the cardboard stencils you used to use with ink? Used them a lot when I was a kid.

I was looking more into taking your existing design and just under the dove filling it in so that it does not get cut out below the dove and then I can raster a name and date below the dove. I am sure that this doesn't make any sense.

I have attached the dove that I like, I am trying to fix it to where I can put a name under it. I hope this makes more sense.

I cannot get the link to work. All I get is a full page of question marks.

George

that is not a link but a CorelDraw file. You need to have CorelDraw on your computer to open it.

On the other hand I have CD and can't open it either.

Hi,
I tried to open the file in CorelDRAW X3. No success. Just creates new blank file. There may be problem with the file itself.
Kevin, try exporting your graphic to some other format maybe.

Must be an X6 version because it opened fine for me. I saved this version of it in 10 for real...

Great. I have played with it some more. I got the name area the way that I would like it. I don't know how to properly get the dove moved to the new circles that I have created above the current one. The dove is in various sections. Is there a way to put them together to properly move it?
