That's an interesting piece of apple, an interesting placement of the bowl. All in all, very nice. I'll bet it vibrated your lathe pretty good. Every time I work with apple, it splits. Have you had such problems?

I think it looks great, I would like to see a side and bottom shot of it if you could.

Definitely a conversation starter! Looks pretty good to me! I do agree with Harry - a couple of additional photos would be appreciated!

George,
I cringe when I think of turning apple. My experiences have all turned out badly for me, but you have captured some great figure in this crotch piece. It seems like you placed the bowl in just right area to get the best figure from it, and it is very well done. Nice piece. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the comments! here are more pictures of bottom and side. This was a small pc. so not any problem on the 3520. The apple turned great from wet to finish no cracks some warping to be expected. I also turned 4 natural edge so far with more to come.

Nice piece of fruit wood. I did a red cedar bowl similarly but it didn't come out anywhere as nice as your apple.

Neat piece George. I tried a similar but smaller one on an apple crotch. Never knew a piece of wood could twist so much!
