Hi All,

I just purchased a new (to me) 36" Band Saw and will be replacing the guides. In the past, on big saws I have used Carter 600 series guides. Having just read about the Laguna ceramic guides I am now second guessing myself. The function of the saw is basically all-purpose; some resawing, curved cuts and ripping in certain circumstances. Any thoughts or other options are appreciated.

Many Thanks!

Ken

What guides are on the bandsaw, now, if I may ask?

Everyone has a story and an opinion - here's mine. Started with the euro guides on the mm16. Saw is used almost xclusively for resaw - using the carbide 1" resaw king or a 3/4 trimaster. Then got a set of carters but found them very cumbersome to adjust and to keep in place. And then got the ceramic lagunas - for me they are the best - lots of blade support - pretty easy to set and they stay there - they feel as equally stout as the blades i'm running.
