There are some very nice stanley 750's for $125 each on Ebay right now! That wouuld be more than double the price of LN...! Seems a little pricey:cool: Although a couple of weeks ago I saw several go for $180 each!

Mark, I don't understand e-bay chisel prices. First it was Everlast's going for $200-300, now its 750s going for over $100. And to further cloud the issue, I won a couple of Nr. 40 Everlast's for less than $50 in the last month and they were nice chisels over nine inches long. I keep bidding low on all the Stanley chisels and every once in a while I win one.

BTW I received the first of the LN chisels I ordered and all I can say is WOW! What a nice feeling and working tool. I don't understand why they feel so light though.

I've heard some of the same stuff for Bailey #1 planes, lots of them turning up and very fishy-sounding.

I think it's just shill-bidding. They bid their own stuff up (assuming they really have the chisel) hoping someone else will jump in.

Last week a "Stanley Everlasting 1/4" chisel with RARE composite handle" went for $400-that might be record. Seems a bit crazy.

As soon as I get around to cleaning up about 10 750s/750 style chisels, they'll be up on the "bay", hopefully to catch a premium buyer!

I don't have the time or patience for selling on ebay, but maybe one of you guys would want to coop it with me. I could sell the 750's, and pick up a set of Barrs or LN's and have money left over. One at a time, or as a set (unmatched)?

Seems these things go in waves. I've got one Everlast I got in a mixed lot of chisels. It is one of my favorite, and most used chisels, but I wouldn't have gone after it for more than a couple bucks by itself.

Gotta wonder if sometimes these prices get driven up by collectors with some they want to unload. Bid up a few of a certain item, then funnel yours out there and let nature take its course.

Could be, I just won a 9" long everlast for $31. Four months ago they were going for $200.
