Some may remember my post from a couple weeks ago. I picked up a whole truckload of what I later learned was California Pepper. I'd had some experience turning some California Pepper a few years prior and my experience was that it moved quite a bit while drying. I decided to try to take advantage of that on these 3 pieces
All pieces were turned green to finish and close to 1/8" thick. Each was then microwaved 3X for 45 seconds on high with roughly 60 seconds between cycles.
The original block, roughly 6" X 6".

Finished piece #1. Hollow form roughly 6" diameter and 5" tall. This piece was turned cross grain.

Piece #2. Another hollow form. Roughly 5" diameter and 5" tall. This piece was turned end grain.

Piece #3. Calabash style bowl, turned end grain. Roughly 5 1/2" wide and 6" tall.

Thanks for looking.
