Great collection of ornaments! They are a nice way to use up those bits of wood that are just too nice to throw away or burn.

They are wonderful! I especially like the laminated and natural edge tops. I need to get to making mine.

I am somewhat new to turning. How does one get started on Birdhouses? Are there videos available?

Charlie check out this method (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/content.php?139-Turning-Miniature-Acorn-Birdhouses). It is not exactly how I do it but it will get you started. It makes an acorn shaped house but you can vary the shape.

Donny thanks for the comments. I do one coat of thin CA on the lathe and then spray with clear lacquer usually but I was out of lacquer for these so I used crystal clear Krylon. Seems to have worked just as well as lacquer.

Marc, speaking of the segmented/laminated top, highly colorful 3/8" plywood does a great job of imitating segmentation.;)
