I recently found this at a yard sale.( 5.00!!!) My brain tells me it's a captive hollowing system made by Kelton 10-15 yrs ago? It appears tho I am missing some parts and I really can't remember how it worked. I only saw it in catalogs. Anyone familiar with this item? Anyone who can steer me to get this in working order? Thanks

Nice score. Looks like you are missing the boring bars which were separate anyway. and maybe the T nut for clamping. I believe there was also a laser attachment at one time as well. I love Kelton boring bars. They cut so smooth.

The pictures on the Lee Valley site pretty much tell the story. the round horizontal bar (along with your tool rest) sets to make the boring bar tip level and on the centerline. Two set screws on the top round bar captured around the above mentioned bar hold a boring bar in place. That (a boring bar) looks to be what you need to make the system work, if the height adjustment is appropriate for your lathe. Also a nut, bolt and washer (or clamp block) to lock it onto the lathe bed, but thats the easy part available at the BORG.

Thank you Tim Appreciate the link. .I am missing nothing but the cutting bars. Everything else is there including the clamp block. LUCKY ME! Maybe if I call the gal who had it at the yard sale, the cutter bars are still in the basement or something. I can now decide if I want the holder for the lazer, to rig this thing up right! Have not seen this unit in years & glad LV has some of this in stock.
Thanks too, Alan & Thom.

Sweet find. Richard Raffan uses one of those on his "Turning Bowls" video. Good way to see it in operation with all the goodies.
