Overbed table mechanism

Does any online site sell the mechanism used to raise and lower the tray on an "overbed" table ? ( a table like patients in hospital beds use). I'd like to buld such a table using mostly wood, but it would be much simpler for me to get the the spring-loaded metal column and release lever already made.
