Does anyone have any ideas as why this doesn't fall over. To me it looks front heavy. Maybe a lot of weight in the back?240194

Take a look at just the top, it's center is directly over the bottom part. Now look at the bottom part, it's center is directly over it's center (of course). Now look at the diagonal, it's center is directly over the center of the bottom part. Ipso facto, the thing is balanced over the center of the bottom part.

Is the top hollow? If so, the center of mass is below the center of gravity.

Try and picture the same table with a skinny dowel on each corner. Does it still appear unstable? The basic shape your seeing us just a rectangular form.

I seen this style of table before and they will hold up their own weight [ one pound at a time ] anchor the free side to a wall and it will stand
