In our Turners Forum there is a thread that I felt might be of interest to Laser Engravers and possibly CNC owners.
All you need is a profile picture that you can trace in Corel Draw to create a vector line that you can laser cut.

Its a unique way to present profile pictures and could easily be vector cut from acrylic or wood. I envision a tall rectangular lamp base with a light source in front of the template which would cast the shadow on the wall.

Thanks to Bill Huber for sharing this technique that he found.

I have seen this before, it is really cool! Thanks for bringing it up again Keith!

We have a full ceramics studio in our center on base and I can see making a template out
of plastic and working with it on a pottery wheel. There may be an opportunity to make templates
for art schools and colleges, say 30 people in a class, 30 x $30 mmmmmmmm.

So many neat things so little time! ;)

These would make outstanding wedding gifts.
Maybe even a whole set of them, one for each member of a family.

Great Link. Tempted to make a light box or something similar using frosted acrylic or the like.

Jake,

Frosted acrylic is another good idea. I assume that the facial area would be lighted and the surrounding area dark, this way you wouldn't need to make adjustments for the shadow.
