I have a request for a gift for a pilot that just earned his wings, I haven't seen this type of plaque before.

It has the pilots wings that are cut iin two pieces, on for the husband and one for the wife, Seperated on
Earth reunited in Heaven.

There is a prayer or quote with it. any ideas? I can make something up, but evidently there is a standard type plaque for this.

I''ve never heard of such wings. The closest I was able to find to this were WWII Sweetheart Wings. See http://www.anaspides.net/military/aviator_wings.html

I am imagining it's something similar to this, but with wings. Maybe the pilot keeps his half with
him while deployed and wife has her's on a plaque with a pilot's prayer.

I am unaware of a prayer, but different planes are know for different things and squadrons usually have little sayings. Did he just basic flight school, or has he just finished training on a particular plane and / or has he been assigned to a squadron yet? And I suppose if nothing else you can always put the new Air Force Motto on it "Fly-Fight-Win".

I am not sure on the details, the pilot recently got his wings and is getting married next month. His father wants
this for a wedding gift.

This may be the quote: (may be too much for a plaque)

HIGH FLIGHT
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air....
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark nor even eagle flew—
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Thanks, Jim! I'll save that in my collection!
