I have a three outlet 12 ga pigtail.

Can I use that at the end of a 14 ga. extension cord?

I'd only be running one tool at a time & the tools would be 10 amp or less, things like a corded drill or a jig saw.

Yes. No problem. You can always go heavier (lower gauge no. = heavier wire)---going lighter can cause problems.

You don't say how long your cord is, but remember that shorter is better--- voltage drops as length increases. Voltage drop can lead to motor over-heating.

Yes you can use it. In my experiance those three way wyes do not last long.

Yes you can use it. The smaller ga cord will limit the amps you will be able to pull.
