I need information on a 2004 Model Laguna LT16HD. This unit is still in the shipping crate, brand new, unopened as the owner claims. I would like to know the following before I make the trip to look at it:

- What would be the maxmimum resaw height for this year model?
- Motor size? Baldor, Leeson or not
- Ceramic guides?
- What would be a fair price for this saw?

Thanks in advance for any and all input,

Mike

I looked at the 2004 Laguna LT16HD when I was BS shopping. As I remember, it had 13” resaw, and ceramic guides. I can't help with the motor make & current value.

Asking price is $2250, any thoughts concerning this price

That seems way high to me. I paid 1,895.00 for my MM16 in 2004

I paid $1595 new for my 14SUV in Dec 2009.

I bought one about that time and paid about $2,400. Today they are about $3,000. The motor is a Baldor 4.5 HP 220V single phase and resaw height is a tad over 16". The guides are ceramic. I love mine; used it today.

Does the 50%-60% of new price rule apply here? This is bizzare situation, an 8 year old never uncrated machine. Any thoughts concerning value?

If it were me, and it's 8+ years old, I'd not expect a full 50 percent off, but i'd expect a bit more thatn 700 off. if its in truly good shape Offer 1800. I'd feel better about a saw that was used on ocassion than sitting still not used at all for that many years.

If it has sat that long I doubt he is in any hurry to unload it cheaply. Is it in Ar? Have a lot of saw options there sans new ones? Id gladly pay $2400 for a new in crate 8 year old LT16HD with a Baldor vs a new chiwan for similar money (even if the $2400 was a grand more its worth it to me) if those were the only easy options for my local. $2400 will buy some crazy used saws though if you can source them close enough to drive.

Seems high to me. For $600 more you can get a brand new one with a warranty. Every now and again they offer Free Shipping. Like others have said try offering $1800 and see what he says. Can't hurt. They are a great saw though. I bought mine a couple of years ago and love it.
