Is this a good half mask to use while spraying lacquer?

That's a good respirator as long as you have no facial hair. It can be equipped with different filters depending on what you're doing. The filters which are pictured on the link are dust filters. For spraying lacquer, I'd use filters intended for organic vapors. They're on that page in the Frequently Bought section.

Glenn,
I bought the 3M 7000 series andreally like it. It is soft silicone rubber and really fits tight, but is very comfortable.

I've used the 3M mask mentioned in the original post (6000 series) but recently replaced it with the 7500 version, which has softer silicone and is more comfortable for me. As previously mentioned, I would use the organic vapour cartriges for spraying.

i use msa because thats what we use at work and what i was fit tested with. no matter which on you choose you should consider getting it fit tested to ensure you have the correct size and fit with no leaks.
