A while back, I posted about a large ambrosia tree that I was given. I needed a larger saw but didn't include a pic. Well, here it is, along with a few pieces of ambrosia maple. The older saw is 18" and the new one is 25". The new one runs so smooooth and quiet.

Not sure what I like more; the new saw or the last hollow form. Both look good...:D

What is the model number of that new stihl, Eric? That looks like a fine piece of equipment.............you know........woodgettintools! Like I was told when I got my new Husqvarna 390xp........"if that won't take care of it, you don't need it!"

Nice form.......gotta luv that ambrosia........really nice figure in it, and I like the combination of sapwood and hardwood.....cool!

Thanks for the comments. Roger, the model number is Stihl MS 362. I really like the way it cuts and it runs REALLY smoothly.

Looks like a double-barreled gloat to me!

Nice setup. I have had a Stihl MS291 with 18" bar for years, and last year I bought a Stihl MS362 with 25" bar as well. I really like the 362, I love the throaty sound the engine makes. Don't think you can only use it on big 25" pieces either, it goes through smaller (16") pieces like cake. You'll like the decompression valve, it makes starting so much easier.

Another pleased 362 owner. Keep it in ethanol free, high octane gas and you'll both be happy.

Eric - congrats on your new saw! Looks like quite the beast!

Looking forward to seeing the hollow forms once finished! Sure is some beautiful wood!

That is some beautiful wood and the saw should do well for you. My son has one I borrow now and again and it works great.

Actually, the only difference between the 361 and the 362 is the fact that the 362 will run well on blended fuels. Having said that, I still try to buy fuel with no additives for my 362 but it is becoming impossible to find in my area. 89 octane is recommended.
