Two Bowls of Cherry Carved into Flowers

Here are two bowls I Carved to Flower like shapes.
This is my first attempts at carving. I did most of the carving with chisels, the flatwork kind (Marples).
I buffed the one with Beal system.
I must say I need to get some basic carving tools on the cheap because I like the outcome but not the process.

Any suggestion welcome (especially on tool sets)

That's a fine job with just a flat chisel Ted! No help with the tools, but a pat on the back for your effort!

That's really nice there! Love mixing in carving with the turning, although I've only done just a little bit of them together. On the carving tools, you're gonna get what you pay for - and they can be reasonable to outrageous. You might keep an eye on ebay, sometimes you can get a nice deal there.
