Question about Rockwell sander motor/starter

Hello,

I have restored a Rockwell/Delta combo sander and have a lingering issue I cannot figure out.

It has a 1 1/2 HP motor that's wired for 110volts, and the Furnas starter wiring is also configured for 110v, but the second I plug it in, I get a slight humming noise from the starter box. The motor starts and stops properly, but the humming doesn't go away and seems a bit odd?

I've checked all of the wiring and it all seems to be connected properly - any ideas as to what is causing it?

It is just the transformer humming. I have several of those starters in my shop that do the same thing. It is not a problem, just annoying. Unplugging the cord will make it stop.:)
