I had to buy a new chain saw because of the recent tree removal, so I went to my local dealer and bought a Sthil MS391 with a 20 inch bar.:):D

Tractor was new this spring. I certainly need both for the tree clean-up
There will be MANY bowl blanks!!!!

Nice gloat, Brian - feel free to drive your extra blanks down here to Georgia on that tractor. Can't be more than a 6 day round trip!

hubba, hubba! I don't know which one is prettier! :D what is the motor size? [CC rating?] I recently got a Husqvarna 390XP and wondered when I saw your picture if they are in the same class ........professional timber saws.........I think the 390XP compares to the 660 or something similar in the stihl lineup.

That is a fine looking outfit, any way you look at it!!! I like both machines.......a lot!!! Congrats on both!

That is a nice saw, Brian........not too big, yet powerful enough to handle a pretty good size tree..........

Now my keyboard is full of drool - you lucky dog! I have a old Ford 1900 - actually a Shibara made in Japan. In the early 80s these tractors were made by Shibara in Japan and Ford made a deal that Shibara could sell them in Japan under the Shibara name. It is a 30 HP 3 Cylinder Perkins diesel with a 26 HP PTO Class 1. It is the same engine that was in my Dads Gafner Iron Mule (skidder).

It looks like you detailed the tractor for the picture - not even dirt on the tires. You should be able to make small chunks out of large trees with the tractor and chainsaw. Both look like good choices.

Now that's a photo that should be framed and hanging on the wall in your shop! Congrats on your new saw and the big green machine!!

Congrats on the saw. Love my 20" stihl. Wish I had the tractor though.

Great saw. It should do really well on those larger trees. " No bowl blanks should go unsawed now". Great way to haul them back to the shop too.

Brian I have had the same saw for about a year now and I really like it. Now if it just had a self sharpening chain.........

Nice saw Brian! But I think the green machine would look pretty cool parked in front of my shop!

Brian:

Congratulations! When you put your shiny new chainsaw in your shiny new loader bucket and strike out to do some work . . . don't forget your saw is in the bucket . . . don't ask how I know!

Be careful and enjoy.
