Anyone Familiar with Ax Maker?

In my on-going quest to find tools that will allow me to take small logs and turn them into working stock, I picked up this ax at a garage sale. I've searched for information on the maker, but I'm coming up empty. Anyone ever seen the mark? The ax head is about 10" x 3".

I'm guessing it is "W.P. Stevenson" or "W.C. Stevenson." Thanks,

I wonder if that could be an owner's mark instead of a maker's mark.
