I am looking to get a base for my Delta Unisaw. I currently have a 32" Delta unifence and am wanting to upgrade to a longer fence. I hear that HTC is making a new base that is adjustable so that I could purchase a base now to fill the shorter table leg span, and then adjust it out to accomodate the longer span with the new fence. Does anybody have this type of base that would allow me to purchase now and use later. Are there other models of bases out there besides HTC that would work?

Barry, I looked up the number in the base assembly/instruction booklet and the Delta number is 50-289. That is the same base for my Unisaw with 50" Beisemeyer. Hope this helped.

Thank you Michael. I will take that into consideration on my purchase!

I have the factory mobile base for my Unisaw and I love it. I've seen some scary "meccano set" style bases and I'd never trust my saw on those. I prefer welded steel sections. In the case of my saw, the cabinet is one piece and the extension part is another. Two parts for ease of manufacturing and inventory control I suppose. But it works well.

Cheers,

Allan

I second the Delta base. It's nice.

I suspect you could probably rig it for the shorter table for now. My only concern would be interference for the lifting mechanism. Post the measurement from the edge of your saw cabinet to the legs and I'll let you know.
