COREL X4 Question

I made some hollow back frames and am trying toget the design set up. I have an object(vector art) in each corner of the frame prodruding into the cut out area for the picture. Also have a hairline rectangle for the pic cutout. I can not figure out how to get corel to put a contour to the inside of the rectangle and objects.
I group them and then inside contour, it is putting the contour to the inside of each object(each individual object). When i tell it to contour to the outside it works perfect but of course doesnt work for the hollowback pic frames. Anyone know what im missing or is there a different way to do this.

Use the trim tool on the interior border and objects then use the inside contour tool. I hope I have understood your objective.

your good, your pic is exactly what im trying to do. i have never used the trim tool so im not sure how to use it. I will play around with with it and see if i can figure it out.
