I use a lot of box joints so I made these jigs. I use this saw for all box joints and little else. I did have a Jointech fence on it and a router as an add on. The Jointech is now going on a new dedicated table.

The wooden block has a dado cut to hold the key stock a little glue keeps it in place.

The oak block is held in place with two 5/16inch bolts. The holes in the block are oversize to allow for adjustment. Moving the block makes it real easy dial in the tightness of the joint.

The bottom and runners are made out of some sort of hard plastic material a buddy gave me. It is great for jegs and fixtures. The runners are held in place with 3/16 inch roll pins.

I made three sizes,1/4,3/8,and 1/2. Doing this allows making perfect joints with no adjustments or trial fits.

Please forgive my ignorance..... What is the piece of wood that looks like it is bolted in place? My guess is that it is a stop when you need to cut the wood along the edge, but, then what? Does it simply lift out of the way? Or is it used as a back stop for the rest of the cuts?

The oak wooden block that is held in place with two bolts keeps the key stock in place. The block has a dado through it and the key stock fits snug in the block with a little glue. The bolts can be loosened and drifted either direction to adjust the joint tightness.
I hope this explains it. If not I will try again.

Oh, very nice (for adjustability).

I think that I had it wrong as to which part is the front and which part is the back. I was thinking that the bolted in piece would have the board against it.... I see now that it will be on the thinner front piece.
