I believe they standarized all cell phone chargers so maybe all cordless tool batteries will be standarized. Each company has its own hook up type to force you to buy replacements from them. I chose all 18 volt Dewalt cordless tools as my main cordless arsenel to standarize all of my batteries and chargers. They make many different tools that hook up to the same battery. I can pool all my batteris together on jobs where I need alot of power. I can also switch between tools when one batery dies. The benifits go on. I to wish they were standarized.
