Ryan , my son....made this cover from ash for a very large vase for a client of his...He rabitted the top to fit into the curved shape finish is paste wax....Shaping was done with a festool Rotex 125

Fluid lines, delicate curves, great grain pattern, nice finish.......It has the character of and adds to that of the vase! Nice Job Ryan! I like it!

Talented work. Really goes nice with the vase. In hact it needs a better vase.

Ditto to what Ken said! I especially like how the hollowed out area mimicks the heartwood of the piece. Well done, Ryan!:) :cool:

That is a cool piece. That is a beautiufl piece of wood and ryan worked it nicely. That wood reminds me of a Telecaster guitar that I had made of ash with a clear natural finish. A beautiful wood that doesn't get used much. Again, nice job Ryan!

Nice work Ryan, must be in the blood.
Now you really need to clean up as your ash shouldn't be all over the place like that it leaves it a bit skinny butt messy. :D

Dang it! A guy just can't have *any* fun! BTW, it's after 3:00 here and STILL not drinkin'! (Busy filling up lumber rack!:D ):) :cool:
