My Bosch 1617 router died. This has happened in the past, and is easily fixed by cleaning the sawdust out of the switch. This time the switch tests good, but I have very high resistance (1000 * 200k ohms) across the white wires leading into and out of the speed control. This is with the speed control in any position and the router turned off. Do I have a bad speed control?

It was a bad power cord.

It was a bad power cord.

That is something I didn't see coming! Glad you got it diagnosed.

Yeah, it surprised me too. I guess the lesson is to check the easy and obvious first. FWIW, the EMI supressor (I think that's what it's called), can be pried apart & slid off along with the strain relief and attached to the new cord. I used the original connectors and wire nuts (there's space inside the housing) since I didn't have right angle connectors. Looks original except the cord is now green. Most of my extension cords are green. I've found they are available after Christmas for $1 - $3.
