Hello.
I have a small collection of Hand Drills ( http://trelliblogi.wordpress.com/ ) and I need some help in identifying the two drill. Maybe someone knows how to help? One looks like a Millers Falls, but I can not find this directory. And maybe someone knows how to say something about the other?

Best regards, Pontu Kuus

PS: Please excuse my English. I wrote with the help of Google Translate.

Here's a link for Millers Falls tools. Your first drill appears to be a breast drill and the second one an "egg beater" type.

I know this link. With the number of breast drill it could be?

Pontu,

Welcome to the Creek.

I can not help with identification, but your drills were likely made in Europe/Asia. One does have "foreign" stamped on it. It could have been made in the U.S. of A. for export and might have a few differences from its domestic counter parts.

Here is a site that has some Millers Falls information among the other writings.

I agree with Jim. These look like Miller Falls drills, but are not. The shoulder drill looks a bit like a 12, but isn't. The other looks a bit like a 5, but isn't. These were made by someone else, probably outside the US - at least for the 2nd drill that has Foreign stamped on the gear.

If they work well, and you like them, then you're good to go.

Thank you for your response. I would be interested a producer because they look like the Millers Falls drills, but they are not.

Can anybody recommend me a website or email where I could ask the manufacturer of these drills?

I did a Google search for European woodworking forums. Found some in the UK. Searching them for hand drills educated me to the fact that nomenclature for tools across the pond are different than here in the States.

Couldn't find egg beater drills listed.

FOREIGN 3 is German. Theodor Genkinger. Model No. 8000

My first picture. Breast drill with the letter A. Could this be produced by Metabo?

I still need a little help. A hand drill is yet to be identified. Maybe someone knows?

The problem with identification is that your tools were likely made in Europe and most folks here are in North America.

Tools are made all over the world.

Just look at the Australian or British equivalent versions of SMC and you will see a wide range of similar looking tools made by makers in their parts of the world.

Thank you for your time. The questions are still unanswered. Can you recommend some British forum?

I just typed UK woodworking forum in to Google and came up with this:

http://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/

I do not know the country codes for many other nations other than au for Australia.

There may be other forums in other countries. The only barrier is language.

Good luck,

My guess is it is not a Stanley. The Victor brand was used by Stanley via Leonard Bailey. I do not think this is one of those products.

Do you have a thread gauge to check the threads? If they are metric, that would lead me to believe it is a European made tool.
