Which BS blade for MDF

Should I use my carbide tipped blade for MDF or will a normal HSS blade be OK. I ask because of the high non-wood content.

I wouldn't use my carbide blade on MDF...the abrasive nature is the reasons. I'd use a "throw away" blade with this material. IMHO, of course.

I have used the carbide blade...it dosn't seem to effect it....probably better not to use it

That's what I was thinking, but since I've never had a carbide BS blade I figured I'd wait until somebody who actually knows something spoke up and then jump on board so as to look more knowledgeable than I really am. :D

But seriously, I was thinking that cutting MDF would be a little bit like cutting plastic, since MDF is held together with resins and the like?

A point of interest is that the Lenox Trimaster is actually a metal cutting blade....us woodworkers just adopted it!
