I have a vacation house sided in T111. Originally I used some Cabot semi transparent stain (I'm talking 30 something years ago) and it lasted 10 to 15 years, and looked great. Since then the house has been restained at least twice and mildew grows, the stain doesn't last etc. I'm sure the toxic mercury laden original stuff was nasty but it sure worked well! Anyone have a good experience with a semi solid or semi transparent stain that holds up in a very humid north eastern environment?
