I received this 'dust hood', when I bought another Dewalt Dust Hood for a planer from another Sawmiller; This item has a standard 2 1/2" opening for collection but I don't know what it fits. Any one have one or know what it goes to? Hopefully the photos are helpful. Thanks

I vaguely remember my 735 having something like that. But that was years ago, I could be wrong. Think it may have been for letting the chips fly as opposed to collection.

Right, its a planer "spolier".

It's a chip deflector off of a Dewalt 735 Planer, you can either use this or the hose and bag system that come with the planer. I'm not sure if it works on any other model of Dewalt planers or if it just fits the 735, it is used more when you are operating your planer outdoors where it makes no difference where the chips and dust fly.

It might go to another planer with a smaller port. I believe the deflector on my DW735 was 4" and it had the slot and pin locking hole that the hose adapter has. I's been a long time since I used mine with the deflector, and it wasn't used but a few times. The hose with the trash can top bag made things a lot easier.

Looks like "contractor" deflector for a 735.
It is used when you are working outside and don't care where the chips go.
The 735 is a contractors model planer but is also used by some hobbyists woodworkers.
The 735 have a power fan on the exit port to blow chips everywhere.

Yep - it'll make a huge mess, but disperses the chips a bit. I can't imagine using one indoors. Actually, I can't imagine ever using it :)

It's a mulch spreader for the 735. It prevents you having to manually spread out all the chips in the yard. You do have to move the 735 to get all the parts of your yard though.
