The vinyl door upholstery is separating on LOML’s car. The vinyl looks like it has a foam backing and is tacky to the touch, the door panel is plastic. Anyone know what would be the best glue to fix it? I’m reluctant to use a contact glue because it’s a one shot glue and I need to stretch and work the vinyl into a groove/slot.
Any ideas?

This site might help Bruce. I work with a lot of upholstery materials, adhering to plastics and polycarbonate but I use a contact adhesive.

Thanks Belinda, I found that yesterday. They recommend 3M 80, a spray adhesive. It will work, but I’ll have to do a lot of masking. I was hoping to find a brush-on glue that I could control better.

Goop brand adhesive works for vinyl but it is thick and gummy and needs some space

Give 3M a call. I've found them helpful, sometimes.
