In fact, you've to read Moai pot
The title because , when I displayed for her opinion, my wife said: But that's looking like the
Moai statues (she was looking the handle)...and for her, this would remain a totemic faced
forever...
About this "pot"
turned on two axis out almond tree
handle was carved to fit with the general shape
The almond tree is a wonderful wood, hard, compact and gives an oily feel ... shame to have only a few bits
2" 1/2 / 1" 1/2 X 4" 5/8 H
Have good turnings,
Lionel

very nice. Very difficult piece to pull off. I notice that a lot of your pieces seem to have little or no finish. Do you use anything on them when complete?

Very cool design Lionel! Great job on all that carving - especially keeping an even thickness on everything!

I understand the outside on two centers... but how do you turn that corner on the inside?

Thanks for your kindly comments folks
@ Deane, yes many pieces have no finish,
first motive, I'm impatient to show
second, often there are intricate relief and I'm afraid that the finish blend the details (edges and so...)
I just apply sometimes danish oil.
If not, sanding ad 320/400 then steelwool and then burnishing with felt disks
@ Curtis, the inside corner is hand carved
