I am trying to install a vacuum system on my Jet 1642. I have the One-Way Rotary Adaptor with their taper adaptor for my 1642. I have removed the handwheel and the piece (locknut?) behind it but when I try to screw on the One-Way piece it only will go on to about the first thread on the screw. Thanks if you have any suggestions.

Thanks David. I guess then that the One-Way Adaptor just slides on rather than screws on? I've about come to the conclusion that my vacuum pump may be bad. It was a freebie so no big deal but I may need to acquire another one before I can do much more.

Hi David:
I just sold my 1642 with the adapter, but you should only need to remove the handwheel. The adapter should have a stub sticking out of the back with a couple of o-rings on it. This slides into the spindle, and you're done. Mine worked great.
