The test gouge a Sorby Ecelsior 1/2" is on it's way to the first tester. He should have the tool Monday. Then we wait for his assessment of the new tool.
My assessment is that they are better because they stay sharper longer then the regular HSS Sorby tool. But they are NOT a Thompson or Glaser tool.
