Anyone hear of this. I just saw the news story today. They suggest you click on a link to see if you have the problem on your computer. I am always suspicious when someone say "Click here"

It has been a story for a while. While caution reigns supreme, there are a lot of legit resources aimed at fixing this one.

Google has been offering a "public service" in that they automatically check your machine for the virus when you do any search. if they think you machine is infected you will get notice on screen.

I blame Dick Clark.

Dick passes the same year the Mayan calendar runs out...
Well played, Mayans.

I checked the story with my antivirus provider, Vipre's website. (google it, and I HIGHLY recommend Vipre). It appears the link is legit... Of course if your computer has a problem you had better check out the link before Monday. Vipre has protected against th malware, check to see if your antivirus has done the same!

These things usually start with people being naughty :p and going to sites they shouldn't have... and then they spread it around with links on Facebook and other social media.
