View Full Version : Corel X3 hanging during cutting

We run an Epilog 36EXT and ran into a weird one today. It led to a small fire (we caught it in time). Basically we have acrylic, and we vector cut patterns. Today, they fired up a patten that was a few years old. Where a straight line comes to an end and a curve starts, the laser hangs for about 5 seconds. Long enough to cause an issue. Deleting the line and replacing the line doesn't fix the problem. Deleting and redrawing the curve doesn't either. The weird part is that this pattern is also in another file that is multiple patterns and it is rotated. In the multiple pattern file it does not hang. If we select the pattern out of the multiple file and rotate it so that it is straight up and down (we get great panel utilization), we have the issue.

We have ordered Corel X6 to get our softwware up to date, and our print driver and firmware is up to date. Has anyone run into this before? Thanks for the replies.

I've seen it too, but no idea what causes it so cannot suggest a cure.

Sometimes it is lots of nodes very close together, or even on top of one another that causes a pause and obviously this is correctable.

The straight-line-to-curve pause is something else and once a drawing has got it, it won't go away.
The only thing is to create a new drawing from scratch, as importing *anything* from the "bad" drawing brings the pause with it.
