Here are some of my recent turnings. From the top they are Pecan,Poplar, and Sycamore on the bottom. All are finished with 10 coats of CA. The blanks have been spalted by me. Alot of time and patience went into waiting for just the right time to cut and dry this wood. I love spalting wood almost as much as I love turning.C&C Welcome and Thanks for looking.

Good looking pens Donny! Have you been able to create different colors with your spalting process?

i really like that pecan one. that came out very nice. None of the spalting I have done in the past has been intentional, its just me not getting to it in time, hoping its not rotten!!!

Some of mine are from not getting to it in time but I usually place certian pieces aside to spalt. I have some great places to hide wood. Sometimes I forget where I put it. I've got some nice Hackberry that should be ready that I put up last year. I need to work on it soon before it gets too late.

Excellent results with your spalting and the finished pens are very nice. I usually rely on dumb luck and nature to get my spalting done.

Very nice. I also like using spalted wood, makes each one that more unique.
