New pics to critique

These are two pieces that I finally got a finish on, the first is Paduak and BE Maple 9"x14" and the second is Leopardwood and Maple 9"x4". I haven't made a segmented piece in awhile but I got a good deal on some flat stock and decided to use for turning instead of cutting boards. Comments and critiques are always welcomed.

Both pieces are exquisite. Congratulations. In the second piece, there are two places where the segments appear totally different (or missing) What am I missing?

Tom, there are actually four missing segments in that piece. Just trying something different instead of using a different wood, hope it works,oh and thanks for seeing that.
